This is a piece that is infused with feminine energy. It was from pieces of  Spirostachy’s Africana tree. It was worn by nursing women. Its smell is gentle and earthly. The mothers would rub a piece of the tree on the rock mixing it with imbola (face paint) and smear it on their babies and themselves. It is believed to repel negative energies. In our region, the tree species is rare, so we use reeds which are present in abundance.
